  • After European vacation, Phillies set to face Red Sox

    Stats

  • Phillies' George Klassen: Moves up to High-A

    Rotowire

The Phillies promoted Klassen from Single-A Clearwater to High-A Jersey Shore on Monday, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com reports.

Klassen will be joined in Jersey Shore by one of the Phillies' top position prospects in shortstop Aidan Miller, who is also getting a promotion from Clearwater. A 22-year-old right-hander, Klassen had performed as one of the top pitchers in the Florida State League over the first two-plus months of the season, turning in a 0.71 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 57:12 K:BB across 38 innings.

  • Phillies' Aidan Miller: Climbs to High-A

    Rotowire

The Phillies promoted Miller from Single-A Clearwater to High-A Jersey Shore on Monday, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com reports.

Miller had been stuck in a 6-for-41 slump at the plate over his final 12 games at Clearwater, but he didn't compromise his plate discipline amid the dry spell, as he had still walked at a 20.4 percent clip. The 20-year-old was able to force his way to Jersey Shore after slashing .275/.401/.483 on the season at Clearwater while going 9-for-10 in stolen base attempts. He's regarded as one of the top lower-level prospects in the Phillies' system.

  • Phillies' Rafael Marchan: Sent back to Triple-A

    Rotowire

The Phillies returned Marchan to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday.

Marchan will head back to Lehigh Valley after he joined the Phillies over the weekend and served as the club's 27th man for its two-game set in London versus the Mets. He didn't appear in either contest and hasn't seen any big-league action since 2021.

  • Mets rally in ninth to beat Phillies 6-5 and split London Series, getting game-ending double play

    Stats

  • Phillies' Jose Alvarado: Blows second save

    Rotowire

Alvarado (1-3) suffered the loss Sunday, allowing three runs (two earned) on two hits and two walks over two-thirds of an inning against the Mets. He struck out two.

Alvarado entered the game with a one-run lead looking to preserve his 12th save, but things went downhill quickly. After allowing a walk and a single to start the inning, an infield single by Mark Vientos tied the game. Then with the bases loaded and one out, a hit-by-pitch followed by a passed ball allowed two more runners to score, saddling Alvarado with his second blown save and third loss of the season. Sunday's outing came on the heels of five consecutive scoreless appearances since his last blown save, which came May 24 in Colorado. The outing lifted Alvarado's ERA to 3.54 with a 1.14 WHIP and 31 strikeouts through 28 innings this season.

  • Phillies' Taijuan Walker: Tough-luck end to great start

    Rotowire

Walker did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk over 5.2 innings against the Mets. He struck out six.

Walker cruised through five innings, allowing just one baserunner while maintaining a three-run lead. In the sixth, after having allowed a one-out base hit and a two-out walk, and with left-handed Brandon Nimmo coming to the plate, Walker was pulled at just 79 pitches in favor of lefty Gregory Soto. Soto proceeded to allow both inherited runners plus an additional run to score, not only saddling Walker with two earned runs but also allowing the Mets to tie the game, thus ending Walker's opportunity to record his fourth win. It was a bit of an unlucky ending for Walker, who pitched very well Sunday after having allowed 12 earned runs over 15.2 innings during his previous three starts. He's next scheduled to take the hill in a tough matchup next weekend when the Phillies travel to Baltimore to take on the Orioles.

  • Phillies' Trea Turner: Closing in on return

    Rotowire

Turner (hamstring) said Sunday he's "getting close" to returning from the 10-day injured list, and it's possible he's activated within the next week, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Manager Rob Thomson indicated the shortstop is running at about 75-to-80 percent of full speed, which makes a return this week seem less likely. Turner isn't expected to embark on a rehab assignment before being reinstated, however, which shortens his potential return timeline. The 30-year-old will attempt to get back to running full speed this week in Boston, which could be one of the final hurdles before he's cleared for game action.

  • Bryce Harper and Phillies slide past Mets 7-2 in London opener as Ranger Suárez gets 10th victory

    Stats

  • Phillies' Bryson Stott: Not in Sunday's lineup

    Rotowire

Stott is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets in London.

Stott started the previous nine games and is in the midst of a five-game hit streak, and he's gone 5-for-17 with a double, three walks, two RBI and four stolen bases in the latter stretch. Weston Wilson will take over at second base and bat eighth Sunday.

  • Mets look to rebound vs. Phillies in London

    Stats

  • Phillies' Bryce Harper: Big day across pond

    Rotowire

Harper went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Mets.

After doubling in the first inning, Harper got the Phillies on the board in the fourth with a solo shot off Sean Manaea, his 15th homer this year. Harper had been slumping a bit prior to the Phillies' trip to London -- he'd gone 7-for-36 (.194) with just one home run in his previous 10 contests. Overall, the 31-year-old Harper is slashing .276/.384/.535 on the year with 45 RBI and 36 runs scored across 258 plate appearances.

    CBS Sports R.J. Anderson

  • Phillies' Ranger Suarez: First to 10 wins

    Rotowire

Suarez (10-1) earned the win Saturday over the Mets in London, allowing two runs on eight hits and a walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out six.

It wasn't Suarez's most dominant outing (the eight hits allowed were a season high), though he managed to limit the damage en route to his league-leading 10th win. It's encouraging to see Suarez make a successful return to the mound after he was struck in the pitching hand by a line drive in his last start, forcing him out of the game after two innings. Overall, the 28-year-old southpaw sports a pristine 1.81 ERA with a 0.85 WHIP and 85:17 K:BB across 79.2 innings this year. Suarez is currently lined up to face the Orioles on the road in his next outing.

    Rotowire

Rojas isn't in the Phillies' lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.

Despite the Mets sending left-handed starter Sean Manaea to the mound, Rojas will step out of the lineup for the second game in a row Saturday. Cristian Pache will take over in center field again and bat ninth.
