WOW....some of those pics were the kind where you have to do a double take to look at the chassis to make sure it's not a 1:1 Samurai !

Showed them to a buddy who stopped over and he said..."that's a sweet Sammy....you thinkin' about buying it ?"

He bout freaked when I told him it was an RC truck....:ror:"thumbsup"

LOL- Thats Awesome..!! :mrgreen::mrgreen:

The white bolts look much better, I always wondered if that's what made those look a little "off"

I agree Man- I wish I'd painted them before I took all those outside photos.. oh well, they're all done now..! "thumbsup"

I think it's a little bit too wide, but very nice Samurai over all. Though I'm a Land Cruiser guy, few of my friends have Suzukis, and I'm thinkin about a RC one.

Hey Thanks- Yeah I agree, Its a tad wide, but still looks good to me, It actually works awesome that wide - much more stable when side hilling.."thumbsup"

Thanks Mike..! Yeah - I agree, its a tad too tall, but if i lower it any, I will loose some of the articulation it has now, and I don't want to do that- it wheels AWESOME the way it is..!! "thumbsup" Maybe I will find some different shocks-we'll see..!;-)

Thanks Man- I might paint them black down the road, but the look of the white has sort of grown on me.. looks like those old school steel wagon wheels.."thumbsup"

I think it's proportioned nicely....just about perfect for my liking. The wider a Samurai is...the less "Tippy" it wiil be.

In my opinion...it's not quite as wide as alot of the 1:1 Samurai's that are built up for playing off road....this was taken BEFORE my wheel spacers were added so it's 2-1/2"s wider now than it was in this photo.

Here's a Picture shot from the front of mine......
http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu282/big-dawgz/bigswamps025.jpg

This picture is about 2 months old....lots has been done and changed since then .

Most guys that run 33" tires or bigger.. end up going with Toyota axles for their strength on their Samurai's

Depending on the year and model, Yota's are between 3-6 inches wider than a Sami axle. This will also add quite a bit to your Samurai's overall width.

Well, I recieved my wheel and tire package in the mail today from "Just Zach" and I gotta say that these were the element that was "missing" from this build the whole time..!! ( Thanks again Zach, they look AWESOME..!! "thumbsup")

Heres the "new" vs. "old" set-up, the rim diamater is what was making the Integy's just not look "scale" to me, these new wagon wheels look 1000% better IMO..!

1.5" Project "Slickrock Samurai" (6)

SO -after making some custom wheel mounting washers, and using some aluminum wheel widners, I got them all mounted up- This is the look this thing was meant to have..!!"thumbsup"

1.5" Project "Slickrock Samurai" (11)

I also made this custom mounting plate that rests above the rear shock towers inside the body for all that "extra" scale stuff that any wheeler' needs to have on hand..! "thumbsup".. Next up is the rear bumper, and spare tire carrier..! StayTuned..

Thanks !

I just recently bought this TinTop Samurai....so I've been getting everything all lined out and setting it up the way that I want it over the winter. I've had it for about 3 months or so.

I've got some poser pics...:ror:. But I'm currently finishing up a few new upgrades on this ZUK.

I'm building my Winch/Push bumper combo
The new Wheels and Tires
More Lift with new Leafs/bushings (8" Total Now)
Ext Slip Yoke Driveshaft on rear and DriveShaft Spacers on the Front
Wheel Spacers
Sky OTT Steering
Breeze Missing Links
5.13 gears front and rear from Trackers/Sidekicks
1995 Samurai Grill (not pictured yet)
Powdercoated Diamondplate Armor Rear corners and Rocker Panel Covers
moved the front axle forward a bit
new extended and braided brake lines
New Red-Top Optima re-located to the back cargo area.....etc...etc.

Hopefully I'll be getting some Wheelin' pics to share soon."thumbsup"

Here's a few diff wheel and tire combos on it in the past 3 months or so.....

31" All Terrain's on 15"x8" White Spokes with a SPOA Lift

1.5" Project "Slickrock Samurai" (13)

Painted the white spokes with Krylon HAMMERED Black/Grey...and Added some new 32"x11.50"x15" Super Swamper TSL-SX's......

1.5" Project "Slickrock Samurai" (14)

New 33"x15.50"x15" Super Swamper TSL-SX's mounted on New 15"x12" Mickey Thompson Classic II's....this picture was taken before the new lift got put on...so it's sittin' bigger now than in any of these pics...!!

1.5" Project "Slickrock Samurai" (15)

And one of my older Samurai's....this one had Yota Axles...22R yota motor...Hydro Steer.....4-1 Transfer.....16" travel Bilsteins....4-linked front/3-linked rear.

It wore 36''s when it wasn't wearing the Tractor Tires.

1.5" Project "Slickrock Samurai" (16)

And one of my OLDER Samurai's...this one's a 1982 SJ-410 and it had the original little 1.0 Liter in it....it was fun too ! 33" Kelly Baja's on this one.

This picture was taken about 10 yrs ago...after a fun Memorial Day weekend.

Check out the little Tilt Lawn Mower Trailer I hauled it on

1.5" Project "Slickrock Samurai" (17)

And a SUPER CLEAN....absolutely RUST FREE one that I picked up a few years ago....it came from the Southwestern part of the U.S..

New 30"x9.50"x15" Mud Terrains...with NO Lift ! :ror: I should've kept that one to fix up....I've had a bunch of these lil things though.

Wish all my toys came from the SouthWest...I like the whole..no rust thing !

The other bonus is that they almost always have A.C. on them when they come from there too !

Any more pics of this Samurai?....I'm kind of addicted to this build !!

Whenever I finally locate a Samurai body....I'm going to try and do one similar to this build...except I'll be making mine a TinTop (Factory Hardtop Samurai).

Also...I would love to try to make a 1995 Samurai Grill in the same fashion of the 1987 type grill that you made for your Samurai. The 1995 grills are quite different...and I'm not sure if they'd be easier...or harder to make than the 87 year grills.

I'm guessing that the 1995 grills would be easier to do...I would just need to find the "mesh" backing and the rest looks like it would require alot less "fine line" cutting than your 1987 grill did. Maybe even a newbie like me will be able to get the 1995 grill close to looking right!!!:mrgreen:

One things definitely for sure...you make this look so EASY ! While....in fact....that's about as far from easy as you can get !

Here's what my 1995 Grill looks like on my Samurai....Just swapped this in last week. "thumbsup"

1.5" Project "Slickrock Samurai" (20)

I used an emblem that came on a different Suzuki vehicle because it's fatter and it has more chrome and is rounded off a little bit better than the standard 1995 Samurai Emblem is.

Thanks Guys -

BiG_DaWgZ, your Sammy is Killer.. I always wanted to build a real 1:1 for wheelin' but I was bitten by the Jeep bug, and never looked back- although, I still want to build one up one day..! Heres one of my "Other" project I like to play with when I'm not wrenchin' on the R/C stuff..

This is my 1951 - "M38" Willys Jeep ( Hence my screenname..:mrgreen1.5" Project "Slickrock Samurai" (24) - Its a legit ex-military version.. I Literally re-built it from the ground up. Its an original ALL metal 1951 body, with ZERO rust.. ( I bought it in Arizona bone stock, and shipped it out to Mass..) I built up and installed a ported and polished small block ford 302-V8, Custom 6" lift, 33" Swampers, Warn winch, and NEW everything else... This thing SCREAMS..!! Its a blast to drive.. I think of it as a Big- street legal, oversized Go-Kart..!!.. It took about a year and a half to strip it down and re-build it to what you see here..

1.5" Project "Slickrock Samurai" (25)

As far as my mini Sammy, No pics to show, but I did have a chance to make an aluminum spare tire mount and get the 5th reduced Tomahawk and Brat wheel ( same as the other 4) on the back end.. Its frame mounted instead of mounted directly to the "flimsy" body.. I will shoot another round of wheelin' pics as soon as i can for ya.. LOL :ror:"thumbsup"

Honestly Man- the 95' grill wouldn't be too hard to do at all.. In fact, I've already seen one done on here before like that.. ( below) It wasn't made in styrene, BUT it dosen't look bad the way it was done, and came out pretty nice.."thumbsup"
