CVA Optima V2 Stock Problem #1956515907/01/24 | |

My problem is the stock does not have enough drop at heel for my eye to be in line with the open sights, even when the length of pull is extended with an added recoil pad. |

I scrabbled around and found an Impact locally, just in time, and he was able to hunt. There was literally nothing available online at the time. I suggest you call CVA and see if one of the other models’ stocks with a lower comb will fit. That’s the cheap option, if available. The spendier one might be this: https:/ Don’t know the dimensions, but Boyds does, and you can always cut it down…. What fresh Hell is this? |

Purchase a Boyd’s wood replacement and trim it to fit, or 2. Do some research and find a gun that fits and trade this one to someone who hunts in a state that allows scopes on MLs. |

After messing with a couple of Knights and a TC Strike, I consider the Optima 2 to be a bargain, with a good trigger and easy to use. If it were me, I’d pony up for the Boyds stock and go hunt. That expense is minimal compared to trading off and starting over. What fresh Hell is this? |

Another option is Williams receiver sight and get a taller front sight to match it. If God wanted you to walk and carry things on your back, He would not have invented stirrups and pack saddles |

They made a conventional straight-combed stock (which I presume you have) and a thumbhole stock. My thumbhole has a check riser and plenty of drop in the comb. It works great for me with the Western Precision sights. And I will be using it in Colorado come this September for chasing mule deer. You can score a thumbhole of eBay. |

I don't think so: K. Only open or iron sights allowed in muzzleloading seasons. Fiber optics and fluorescent paint incorporated into or on open or iron sights are legal. Scopes or any sighting device using artificial light, batteries and electronic gear are prohibited during muzzleloading seasons. Utah will let you hunt with a 1x scope. |
