Job Overview:The EOIR Immigration Attorney will be responsible for providing legal representation to non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings, preparing diverse immigration applications, and presenting strategic solutions to clients. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage a caseload, and experience with various immigration applications and proceedings. Duties:Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.Manage workload of cases efficiently.Conduct intakes with detained individuals at centers.Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.Review immigration applications/packets and make necessary adjustments.Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.Conduct strategic immigration consultations with potential clients and determine necessary strategies.Prepare clients and witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.Provide legal analysis to clients to determine possible case benefits.Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.Preferably bilingual in Spanish.Utilize exceptional interpersonal skills in all interactions.Maintain a record of moving legal cases forward and effectively manage a caseload.Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.Experience with Case Management Software is preferred. Requirements:1-5 years of Immigration Law Experience. Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications:Admission to the California State Bar. Skills:Immigration law experience.Case management.Legal research and analysis.Written and oral advocacy.Bilingual proficiency in Spanish (preferred).Familiarity with Case Management Software.
